Just reminded of the lovely children’s books by Richard Scarry, thanks to the WeLoveYouSo blog. He learned me a lot about the English language, he did. I stared at his illustrations for hours on end as a kid.
Richard Scarry! I used to spend hours and hours coming up with elaborate stories for all his little furry friends! I was a very antisocial creative child.

Ha! I did the same thing!
